Quick setup
Install the app
Open the .pkg installer and follow the wizard. OutstaFlow will be installed to your Applications folder.
Grant permissions
OutstaFlow needs Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions to detect your hotkey and paste text.
Add your Groq API key
Click "API Keys & License" in the menu bar. Paste your Groq key, hit Test, then Save. That's it.
What is a Groq API key?
Groq is the AI service that powers OutstaFlow's voice transcription and AI features. Instead of routing your audio through our servers, you connect directly to Groq with your own free API key. This means better privacy — we never see your data.
How to get your Groq key (free)
- 1Go to console.groq.com and sign up (free, takes 30 seconds)
- 2Click "API Keys" in the left sidebar
- 3Click "Create API Key", give it any name (e.g. "OutstaFlow")
- 4Copy the key (starts with gsk_...) and paste it into OutstaFlow Settings
What does Groq cost?
Groq offers a generous free tier that covers most casual use. Beyond the free tier, transcription costs $0.111 per hour of audio and AI cleanup is fractions of a cent. Most users pay $1-3/month.
